Inclusive Dance Studio as the target of cooperation of Dance Study Program in 2024

ISI Yogyakarta alumni are spread throughout Indonesia. They all participate in cultural preservation efforts in their respective regions. One of the alumni of the Dance Department of ISI Yogyakarta, I Ketut Gede Bandesa, S.Sn. manages an art studio engaged in dance and fine arts training in Banjar Serongga Tengah, Serongga village, Gianyar District, Gianyar, Bali. The studio is special because it is an inclusive studio engaged in social and cultural activities. The students of this studio are normal children in general and children with special needs or difable, which is dominated by hearing impaired children.

The government launched the Inclusive education program, which is an education delivery system that is open to anyone, with different backgrounds and conditions. And this inclusive education can also be intended for children who have special needs and limitations. In the Merdeka Learning Campus Merdeka program, the Dance Study Program takes advantage of this program to be able to provide experience and knowledge to dance students regarding inclusiveness.

Through a meeting held at the Grand Zuri Hotel Yogyakarta on July 18, 2024, the Dance Study Program collaborated with Sanggar Sekar Dewata Bali represented by the head of the studio, Mr. I Ketut Gede Bandesa, S.Sn. In the agenda of the activity, the signing of the IA (Implementation Arrangement) which contains cooperation between the Dance Study Program and Sanggar Sekar Dewata Bali, namely Mr. I Ketut Gede Bandesa, S.Sn. as the head of the studio, Dr. Rina Martiara, M.Hum. as the Head of Dance Study Program and Dr. I Nyoman Cau Arsana, S.Sn., M.Hum as the Dean of the Faculty of Performing Arts ISI Yogyakarta.

Dance Study Program through the MBKM program in the framework of the 2024 Dance Study Program held a collaboration with Sanggar Sekar Dewata Bali with a Dance student research activity program. A total of 10 people will be deployed for research and activities at Sanggar Sekar Dewata Bali in September-December 2024.
