The ISI Yogyakarta Library Becomes a Reference for a Comparative Study by the Semarang Public Works Polytechnic

Yogyakarta, April 7, 2026 — The Library Unit of the Indonesian Institute of the Arts (ISI) Yogyakarta received a comparative study visit from the Semarang Public Works Polytechnic. This activity is part of strengthening institutional networks between higher education institutions, as well as affirming ISI Yogyakarta's capacity in managing academic and library services that are adaptive to the development of information technology.

The Semarang Public Works Polytechnic delegation was welcomed by the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs and Planning of ISI Yogyakarta, Dr. Dewanto Sukistono, M.Sn., accompanied by the Head of the Academic Section of the Academic, Student Affairs, and Cooperation Bureau, the Head of the Library Unit, librarians, and archivists of ISI Yogyakarta. From the guest side, the Director of the Ministry of Public Works Polytechnic of Semarang, Ir. Brawijaya, S.E., M.Eng.I.E., MSCE, Ph.D., IPU, ASEAN.Eng, was present, along with the Deputy Director II, heads of departments, the head of the library, and librarians.

This visit aims to study the information technology-based library management system, examine collection development and library service strategies, exchange experiences related to service innovation for users, and strengthen institutional relationships between university libraries.

As an art college, ISI Yogyakarta continues to demonstrate its commitment to building a strong academic ecosystem through the development of professional, innovative, and responsive educational support services. In this context, the library plays a strategic role as a center for knowledge, literacy, documentation, and academic support that underpins the implementation of education, research, and community service.

This comparative study visit also reflects the increasing trust of other institutions in ISI Yogyakarta as an institution that is not only excellent in the fields of art and culture but also has institutional governance that continues to develop in line with the demands of the times. The management of the library, integrated with the needs of academic services, is one of the concrete manifestations of strengthening the institution's capacity.

Through this forum, both institutions can exchange ideas and experiences in the development of university libraries, especially in facing the challenges of digital transformation, strengthening service quality, and improving information access for the academic community. Such synergy is expected to broaden the space for collaboration between universities while strengthening the contribution of each institution in advancing higher education in Indonesia.

For ISI Yogyakarta, this visit further strengthens the institution's role as a leading art higher education institution, open to collaboration, and continuously building its reputation through the strengthening of impactful academic governance. With this spirit, ISI Yogyakarta not only serves as a center for art education but also as a strong institution in the development of knowledge, service innovation, and institutional networking.
