Yogyakarta, February 16, 2026 - A warm atmosphere full of reflection and togetherness colored the 76th Anniversary of the Indonesian Academy of Fine Arts (ASRI) organized by the Faculty of Fine Arts and Design ISI Yogyakarta. Carrying the theme “Art Connectivity”, This commemoration is a strategic momentum to reaffirm the role of art as a connector across generations, ideas, and global networks.
As an institution rooted in the long history of the Indonesian Academy of Fine Arts, FSRD ISI Yogyakarta presents a series of meaningful activities. The commemoration began with the agenda anjangsana to the residences of the retirees. This activity is not just a gathering, but a space to honor the dedication of the predecessors who have built a strong foundation of art education in Indonesia.
The series continued with a pilgrimage to the graves of the founding figures of ASRI. The academic community along with faculty leaders bowed their heads, remembering the spirit of struggle that since 1950 has carved the history of the national art journey. This tradition is a reminder that innovation and progress are always rooted in the values and vision of the founders.

The culmination of the commemoration took place at the Ajiyasa Building FSRD ISI Yogyakarta through a ceremony that presented lecturers, alumni, students, and retirees. In the forum, alumni and academics shared reflections on the dynamics of contemporary art and the importance of connectivity-both in artistic practice, cross-disciplinary collaboration, and strengthening international networks.
As a symbol of the continuity of the relay of creativity, a tumpeng cutting procession was carried out and symbolically handed over from the oldest lecturer representative to the youngest lecturer. This moment emphasizes that the spirit of work and academic dedication continues from generation to generation.
For Institut Seni Indonesia Yogyakarta, the 76th anniversary of ASRI is not just a historical ceremony, but also a reflection of commitment to continue strengthening an adaptive, collaborative, and impactful fine arts ecosystem for society. Through the spirit of Art Connectivity, FSRD ISI Yogyakarta affirms its position as a center of fine arts education that not only maintains tradition, but also actively builds creative networks at the national and global levels.
This commemoration is also a sign that ASRI's legacy lives on-not just as history, but as the energy driving the future of Indonesian art.
