Appreciating Art and Creativity in Postcards, Minister of Culture visits ISI Yogyakarta

The Minister of Culture of the Republic of Indonesia, Dr. Fadli Zon, S.S., M.Sc. visited ISI Yogyakarta to witness the international exhibition entitled "Hello There: Postcard Reconstruction" on Saturday, November 30, 2024. This international exhibition is held at Fadjar Sidik Gallery, Faculty of Fine Arts and Design ISI Yogyakarta, from November 28 - December 4, 2024. The visit of the Minister of Culture was welcomed by the Rector, Vice Rector and Deans at ISI Yogyakarta, the Exhibition Curator, the Chairperson of the Exhibition Committee of Lecturers of the Department of Fine Arts ISI Yogyakarta and media colleagues.

The international exhibition titled "Hello There: Postcard Reconstruction" was organized as an effort to introduce and evoke the memory of the artists and visitors to the exhibition to see and re-interpret the work through an embodiment similar to a postcard, as stated by the Exhibition Curator, Satrio Hari Wicaksono, M.Sn. The exhibition features 200 works by 184 artists from various countries such as Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Hungary, Afghanistan, Granada, the Netherlands and Germany.

The Rector of ISI Yogyakarta, Dr. Irwandi, M.Sn. in his speech said that the presence of the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Indonesia and the board of PFI at this event gave a very important meaning. This is a form of real government support for the development of arts and culture, especially in efforts to preserve and develop cultural values through the medium of fine arts and philately. We hope this exhibition can inspire the younger generation to appreciate cultural heritage more and continue to work with unlimited creativity.

In line with the remarks delivered by the Rector of ISI Yogyakarta, the visit of the Minister of Culture to the international exhibition entitled "Hello There: Postcard Reconstruction" is a form of appreciation to all parties who have contributed in organizing this exhibition. The Minister of Culture also advised that this exhibition is not only a space for creativity, but also a means of education, dialogue between nations, and inspiration for the younger generation. This exhibition reflects how art plays a role in strengthening Indonesia's cultural diplomacy on the world stage.
