Moch Saddam Husain, a student of Photography Study Program, Faculty of Recording Media Arts ISI Yogyakarta, won second place in the artistic photography competition at the National Student Art Week (PEKSIMINAS) 2024. Moch Saddam Husain became the representative of the Yogyakarta contingent for the artistic photography competition because he won the artistic photography competition at the 2024 Regional Student Art Week (PEKSIMIDA). With a work entitled "Urban Metamorphosis", Moch Saddam Husain was able to deliver Moch Saddam Husain as the second winner of PEKSIMINAS 2024 for the artistic photography competition.
The photo titled urban metamorphosis depicts the dynamic transformation that cities undergo in terms of infrastructure, culture and society. Urban adaptation reconstructs the face of the city to become more modern and complex. The other side of the coin is tearing down the basic rights of marginalized communities, environmental destruction under the pretext of development and widening the rich-poor disparity.
Along with other champions, Moch Saddam Husain managed to beat 23 other participants. In the artistic photography competition, participants were asked to take photos in accordance with the theme determined by the committee. Moch Saddam Husain's achievement proves that strong intention and hard work will certainly not deny the results obtained. Congratulations once again to Moch Saddam Husain.
