The ISI Yogyakarta Art Laboratory will hold a Kethoprak performance titled Satria Pinilih on Friday, July 28, 2023, at 19.30, at the ISI Yogyakarta Art Laboratory. The Kethoprak performance titled Satria Pinilih was organized as an effort to enliven the 39th Anniversary of ISI Yogyakarta. This performance involved ISI Yogyakarta academicians, former ISI Yogyakarta staff, employees and selected ISI Yogyakarta alumni. They collaborated as directors, scriptwriters, accompanists, fashion stylists, performers, drummers and dancers. The performance also featured Didik Nini Thowok and Mamuk Rahmadona as guest stars.
The Kethoprak performance titled Satrian Pinilih will illustrate the efforts of a young man from the pamengger hermitage who will want to become a soldier in Majapahit. To become a Majapahit soldier, the young man is required to kill Kebo Marpoet or a giant buffalo, for his persistence and efforts the young man was able to kill Kebo Marpoet even though his body was destroyed. From this performance, an important lesson can be learned that strong effort and determination can make the impossible possible.
This kethoprak performance is open to the general public and free of charge.
