The Department of Dance FSP ISI Yogyakarta won a World Record from the Indonesian World Records Museum or more popularly known as MURI for the record of the First Bedhayan Grub whose dancers are Dance Lecturers. The achievement of this world record was proven by the submission of the Award Charter from the Indonesian World Record Museum by the Chairman, Indonesian World Record Museum, Prof. Dr. (Hc). Jaya Suprana to the Assistant Dean I of FSP ISI Yogyakarta and also a lecturer in the Dance Department of FSP ISI Yogyakarta, Dra. M. Heni Winahyuningsih, M.Hum. The award was presented at the Bedhayan III Festival which was held on Sunday, May 14, 2023 at Ohmmstay Jalan Solo KM 15, Bendan, Tirtomartani, Kalasan, Sleman, Yogyakarta.
Before the awarding procession for the world record obtained, the lecturers of the Dance Department of FSP ISI Yogyakarta danced Bedayan Kusumaningtyas by one of the Dance Department lecturers, Indah Nuraini, SST., M.Hum. Bedayan Kusumaningtyas depicts women who are resilient in facing various challenges. Women with patience, resilience and sincerity in giving their knowledge to produce the most beautiful are reflected in the movements of Bedayan Kusumaningtyas dance.
The dances performed by the lecturers of the Department of Dance FSP ISI Yogyakarta received a lively welcome from the invited guests and the audience. The invited guests and spectators were amazed by the appearance of dance lecturers who were more than fifty years old but were able to dance traditional dances with agility and beauty. The achievements obtained by the lecturers of the Dance Department of FSP ISI Yogyakarta are expected to motivate ISI Yogyakarta students and Indonesian youth to continue to learn and preserve Indonesian traditional dance. Age is not a barrier to continue to work and maintain the traditional dance heritage of Indonesia's ancestors.
