ISI Yogyakarta Supports National Action for the Prevention, Eradication, Abuse and Distribution of Narcotics

ISI Yogyakarta in collaboration with the Head of the Bantul Regency National Narcotics Agency organized urine testing activities for Civil Servants within ISI Yogyakarta on Friday, December 23, 2022. This urine test was held in Meeting Room III, ISI Yogyakarta Rectorate. This activity was organized as a form of participation of ISI Yogyakarta in order to succeed the National Action Plan for the Prevention and Eradication of Abuse and Illicit Trafficking of Narcotics and Narcotics Precursors. Urine tests are carried out as a screening effort for drug abuse and illicit trafficking.

Currently, the abuse and distribution of narcotics is one of the problems in fostering the quality of Indonesian human resources. The rise of narcotics abuse is one of the causes of the decline in the quality of the nation's human resources. For this reason, the President issued Presidential Instruction Number 2 of 2022 concerning the National Action Plan for the Prevention and Eradication of Abuse and Illicit Trafficking of Narcotics and Narcotics Precursors. With this presidential instruction, it is hoped that it will be able to reduce the number of narcotics abuse and cut off the circulation of narcotics. The implementation of urine tests at ISI Yogyakarta is a form of action from Presidential Instruction Number 2 of 2022.

The implementation of urine tests for Civil Servants at ISI Yogyakarta was attended by 17 employees. From the urine tests carried out, all participants obtained negative results. In other words, employees who take the urine test are declared free from narcotics.
