The traditional arts of Indonesia are abundant. They have been passed down from wise men before us. Some have been implemented in the form of preservation that remains in accordance with convention. Others have been processed into new materials, new artifacts, and even into contemporary works of art by today's artists. So what can be done with such cultural assets in the future? What kind of curatorial efforts or actions are interesting models to accompany the reactualization of this extraordinary traditional art?
To answer this question, the S-2 Master of Fine Arts Study Program at the Faculty of Fine Arts and Design ITB organizes a Public Lecture in the Sociology of Art II course with the topic of Reactualization of Tradition in Contemporary Art Exhibitions. This public lecture will present a guest lecturer from Institut Seni Indonesia Yogyakarta, Dr. Mikke Susanto, MA. The guest lecturer in this public lecture is the Head of the S-1 Art Management Study Program, Faculty of Fine Arts and art curator.
The public lecture will be held on Monday, September 20, 2021, from 09.00 to 11.00 WIB.
