Wednesday (6/19/2019), ISI Yogyakarta in collaboration with the Bantul Regency Cultural Office and the Indonesian Pedalangan Association (PEPADI) Yogyakarta Special Region organized the 2019 District Level Child and Youth Dalang Festival. The event was opened by the Head of Bantul Regency Culture Office, Nugroho Eko Setianto, S.Sos., MM, who was accompanied by Assistant Rector III of ISI Yogyakarta, Drs. Anusapati, M.FA. and also attended by the Rector of ISI Yogyakarta, Prof. Dr. M. Agus Burhan, M.Hum., and Assistant Rector II, Drs. Hartono, M.Sn.. The event took place at Pendapa Panjangmas ISI Yogyakarta from Wednesday (6/19/2019) to Thursday (6/20/2019) at 08.00 WIB until completion.
This activity was held with the intention of recruiting child and teenage puppeteers who could later take part in festivals at the national level. "It is hoped that in the future activities like this can be routinely held every year," explained Aneng Kiswantoro, M.Sn., as the event committee who is also a lecturer in the Pedalangan Study Program at ISI Yogyakarta. In addition to the children and youth festival, a Wayang Exhibition was also held at the Old Rectorate Building of ISI Yogyakarta.
