Yogyakarta, April 21, 2026 — The Indonesian Institute of the Arts (ISI) Yogyakarta has once again achieved a significant milestone in strengthening its institutional quality and competitiveness. A total of 79 professional certification scheme proposals submitted through the ISI Yogyakarta Professional Certification Institute (LSP) have been verified by the National Professional Certification Agency (BNSP). This achievement consists of 16 occupation schemes and 63 cluster schemes, which serve as a crucial foundation for reinforcing the professional certification system within art higher education institutions.
This verification is encouraging news and a strategic milestone for ISI Yogyakarta in solidifying its role as an art higher education institution that is not only excellent in art education, creation, and research, but also serious in building nationally standardized professional competency recognition. With this achievement, ISI Yogyakarta demonstrates a strong commitment to preparing graduates and art resources that are relevant to the needs of the workforce, creative industries, and the development of competency-based professional ecosystems.
The scope of the verified scheme reflects the breadth and strength of the scientific fields at ISI Yogyakarta. The proposed scheme covers various strategic fields, including the Animation Study Program with 18 schemes, the Film and Television Study Program with 12 schemes, the Film and Television Production Study Program with 11 schemes, the Photography Study Program with 16 schemes, the Faculty of Performing Arts with a combination of occupation and cluster schemes, and the Faculty of Fine Arts and Design, which strengthens the development of schemes in the fields of crafts, design, and fine arts.
The Rector of ISI Yogyakarta, Dr. Irwandi, S.Sn., M.Sn., stated that this achievement is an important step in strengthening the institution's quality governance, as well as a testament to ISI Yogyakarta's commitment to providing art education that is increasingly relevant to the needs of the times.
“The verification of 79 LSP ISI Yogyakarta scheme proposals by BNSP is a very proud achievement. This is not merely about administrative approval, but a sign that ISI Yogyakarta continues to move forward in building a stronger, measurable, and nationally recognized competency assurance system. For us, professional certification is an important part of the effort to provide impactful higher art education, which not only produces creative individuals but also competent, professional art human resources ready to contribute in various sectors,” he said.
Furthermore, the Rector emphasized that this achievement must become a shared energy to enter the next phase of work with greater discipline and direction. “After this verification, the next challenge is to ensure that all supporting tools, especially the Competency Test Material (MUK) and other documents, are prepared seriously, carefully, and collaboratively. I hope all involved parties can use this momentum as a joint step towards full assessment and witness, so that the ISI Yogyakarta LSP is truly ready to be a strong and credible professional certification institution,” he added.
This achievement also confirms that the development of professional certification at ISI Yogyakarta is not built in a piecemeal fashion, but rather designed as part of a long-term institutional strategy. Amidst increasing demands for competency recognition in various sectors, the existence of certification schemes validated by BNSP becomes an important asset for ISI Yogyakarta to expand its contributions, enhance its reputation, and strengthen the institution's bargaining position at the national level.
In this context, the ISI Yogyakarta Scheme Committee plays an important role in designing, refining, and preparing the next stages towards full assessment. The next stage demands more intensive work through the penyusunan MUK (which can be translated as the preparation of assessment instruments/materials), the arrangement of assessment tools, and the completion of other supporting documents so that all verified schemes are truly ready to enter the full assessment and witness process in accordance with BNSP regulations.
With the spirit of collaboration across study programs, faculties, scheme committees, and other institutional elements, ISI Yogyakarta has a great opportunity to present an excellent professional certification system and become a reference in the fields of art, culture, and the creative industry.
