Yogyakarta, October 16, 2025 - Institut Seni Indonesia (ISI) Yogyakarta received an audience from The Japan Foundation (JF) regarding an international cooperation initiative entitled "Partnership to Co-create a Future with the Next Generation: WA Project 2.0." This audience is scheduled to take place on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at 14.00 WIB, as part of the official visit of The Japan Foundation Headquarter (Tokyo) team to Indonesia.
The WA Project 2.0 program is a comprehensive people-to-people exchange initiative to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of ASEAN-Japan Friendship and Cooperation (2023). Over the next decade, the project will focus on strengthening youth exchanges and human resource development in the Japan and ASEAN regions.
In a letter signed by INAMI Kazumi, Director General of The Japan Foundation, he expressed his appreciation for the active role of ISI Yogyakarta which has been an important link in art collaboration between Indonesia and Japan. Through this audience, both parties are expected to discuss new strategic partnership opportunities in the fields of education, culture, and contemporary art.

The Japan Foundation audience team consisted of representatives from the Jakarta office and Tokyo headquarters, including Mr. INAMI Kazumi (Director General), Mr. MIYAKE Shota (Assistant Director General), Puput Setia Susanti (Senior Program Officer, Art & Culture Division), Mr. OHIRA Yukihiro (Director, Networking Initiatives Section), and Ms. HIKAGE Yurina (Staff, Networking Initiatives Section).
This audience is an important step in strengthening ISI Yogyakarta's international network as well as opening up new opportunities in the development of cultural cooperation and arts education between Indonesia and Japan, in line with ISI's mission to become a center of excellence for global art.
