The Music Creation Study Program, Faculty of Performing Arts (FSP) ISI Yogyakarta will hold a masterclass entitled "How Composers Think: As a Tool in Achieving Artistic Goals" on March 13 to 14, 2024, in Classroom 2.1 of the Old Rectorate of ISI Yogyakarta, from 14.00 to 17.00 WIB each day. The masterclass titled How Composers Think will present international composer Roderik De Man. The Music Creation Study Program consistently continues to present national and international speakers to increase student competence.
Roderik De Man is an Indonesian-born composer who received his musical education in the Netherlands. Roderik de Man studied percussion with Frans van der Kraan and Music Theory at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague. At the same time he attended Kees van Baaren's composition classes and worked in an electronic studio supervised by Dick Raaymakers. His works consist of solo, chamber, orchestral, ensemble and choral music. Many of his works are available on CD.
The masterclass will be closed with a concert by students of the Music Creation Study Program. This masterclass will discuss student works and will be concertized.
