The Rector of ISI Yogyakarta, Prof. Dr. Timbul Raharjo, M.Hum. received an audience of foreign researchers from the United States, Matthew Clay-Robison on June 27, 2023, at the ISI Yogyakarta Rector's Room. On this occasion Prof. Dr. Timbul Raharjo, M.Hum. received a joint audience by the Head of the R.J. Katamsi Gallery ISI Yogyakarta Warsono, S.Sn., M.A. as well as Matthew Clay-Robison's research partner while in Indonesia. This collaborative research was organized by ISI Yogyakarta in cooperation with the American Indonesia Exchange Foundation (AMINEF).
On this occasion Matthew Clay-Robison conveyed the objectives and research plans that will be carried out with Warsono, S.Sn., M.A. This research seeks to provide an overview of the influence of American art and visual culture on Indonesian visual culture or art. Although Indonesian art is increasingly recognized by the world community, the people of the United States do not know about it. Hopefully the results of this research will be able to provide valid information related to Indonesian art to the people of the United States.
This collaboration will provide experience to ISI Yogyakarta academicians in conducting research. Hopefully the resulting research can penetrate internationally reputable journals so as to help improve the quality of publications produced by ISI Yogyakarta lecturers.
