On Monday, March 20, 2023, ISI Yogyakarta held an MoU signing with Museum Haji Widayat. In this MoU signing procession, ISI Yogyakarta was represented by Prof. Dr. M. Agus Burhan, M.Hum. as the rector and Museum Haji Widayat was represented by Fajar Purnomo Sidi as the museum director. On this occasion, a cooperation agreement was also signed between the Faculty of Recording Media Arts ISI Yogyakarta, the Faculty of Performing Arts ISI Yogyakarta and the Faculty of Fine Arts ISI Yogyakarta with Museum Haji Widayat. The signing of this cooperation document was carried out in the context of implementing the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, Free Campus Learning and conservation of museum collections.
Museums hold collections that allow people to gain knowledge from museum collections. For this reason, it is important for museums to maintain the integrity of museum collections so that they can be accessed by the public. Seeing the urgency of collections for museum extension, ISI Yogyakarta and Museum Haji Widayat signed an MoU. To support the implementation of this collaboration, a cooperation agreement was prepared between the Faculty of Recording Media Arts ISI Yogyakarta, the Faculty of Performing Arts ISI Yogyakarta and the Faculty of Fine Arts ISI Yogyakarta with the Haji Widayat Museum. The cooperation agreement between the 3 Faculties at ISI Yogyakarta contains cooperation related to the conservation of art objects, internship programs, and organizing workshops in the field of cultural arts.
In his remarks, the Rector of ISI Yogyakarta said "Haji Widayat is one of the great artists and lecturers of the Indonesian Academy of Fine Arts which was the forerunner of the birth of ISI, therefore it is appropriate if ISI Yogyakarta also supports the maintenance and management of the museum". He also said not to let the signed cooperation document become a sleeping MoU. Fajar Purnomo Sidi as the Museum Director also said that this cooperation document will really be the basis for joint activities that will be carried out by ISI Yogyakarta and is very happy with ISI Yogyakarta's response to the response to the request submitted by Haji Widayat Museum. This collaboration is expected to benefit both parties.
