The Rector of ISI Yogyakarta, Prof. Dr. M. Agus Burhan, M.Hum. released students who participated in the Merdeka Student Exchange Program 2 at ISI Yogyakarta on Thursday, December 22, 2022, at the Multipurpose Building of ISI Yogyakarta. With this release, students who take part in the Merdeka Student Exchange Program will return to their campuses outside Java.
The Merdeka Student Exchange is part of the Merdeka Belajar - Kampus Merdeka Program launched by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology. This program provides opportunities for students to study at other campuses outside the island to learn new disciplines as well as arts and culture from the destination campus area. By participating in this program, it is hoped that students will not only gain knowledge but also experience Indonesian culture so as to further strengthen the spirit of student unity and integrity.
In 2022, ISI Yogyakarta received 49 students who participated in the Merdeka Student Exchange Program. At ISI Yogyakarta, students who take part in the Merdeka Student Exchange Program study in various art study programs and learn the arts and culture of Yogyakarta. Apart from studying on campus, students are also invited to visit historical places and take part in various workshops such as making batik, puppets and ceramics.
The release ceremony began with a musical performance from students participating in the program, remarks from the person in charge of the program Dindin Heryadin, S.Sn., M.Sn., remarks and release of students by the Rector of ISI Yogyakarta and ended with an art performance by students. Along with this event, art works produced by students during the Merdeka Student Exchange Program were also exhibited.
