Rector Opens Seminar "Customs and Festival Organization in Yogyakarta"

The Rector of ISI Yogyakarta, Prof. Dr. M. Agus Burhan, M.Hum. opened an art management seminar with the theme "Customs and Festival Organizing in Yogyakarta" on Wednesday, July 6, 2022, at the ISI Yogyakarta Concert Hall Building. The art management seminar presented speakers Sutopo, S.E., M.M (Functional First Expert Customs and Excise Examiner at Yogyakarta Customs), Aan Fikriyan, S.T. (Creative and Festival Activist) and was hosted by Nadiyah Tunnikmah, S.Sn,. M.A. (Lecturer at ISI Yogyakarta). This seminar is the result of cooperation between Galeri R.J. Katamsi ISI Yogyakarta and Yogyakarta Customs Office.

The seminar was attended by ISI Yogyakarta academicians, artists, festival and exhibition organizers. This art management seminar provides knowledge to participants on how to mobilize art goods that will be used in a festival or exhibition as well as policies on customs. With this knowledge, it is hoped that artists and festival organizers will no longer experience problems when bringing art goods from within and outside the country.

The first speaker Aan Fikriyan, S.T. conveyed his experience related to carrying goods abroad and entering Indonesia. This first speaker also conveyed the urgency of literacy about customs so that it can easily carry goods abroad or enter Indonesia. The second speaker, Sutopo, S.E., M.M from the Yogyakarta Customs Office delivered material on customs rules related to the movement of goods from within and outside the country. The second speaker also shared tips on how artists and performers should carry goods abroad or into Indonesia.

The material presented by the two speakers provided enlightenment and guidance on how to bring goods to and from abroad. The problem often faced by artists and festival actors in the country is when bringing goods in or out of the country and this seminar can answer these problems.
