Rector of ISI Yogyakarta, Prof. Dr. M. Agus Burhan, M.Hum opened an international exhibition with the theme "Recovery: Art for A Better Life" on May 30, 2022, at Sasana Ajiyasa Building, Faculty of Fine Arts ISI Yogyakarta. This international exhibition will be held from May 30 to June 15, 2022 for indoor exhibition and May 30 to June 30, 2022 for outdoor exhibition. The indoor exhibition can be enjoyed by visiting the R.J. Katamsi Gallery ISI Yogyakarta and the outdoor exhibition is held at the Faculty of Fine Arts ISI Yogyakarta.
The opening ceremony began with the singing of the national anthem Indonesia Raya. The event continued with remarks from the Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts ISI Yogyakarta, Remarks from the Chairman of the 38th Anniversary of ISI Yogyakarta, Remarks from the exhibition curator, Commorative Speech from the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy and Remarks from the Rector of ISI Yogyakarta. The next event in the opening of the exhibition was the handover of certificates to artists who participated in the cast. The ceremony ended with a tour of the exhibited works.
This international exhibition collaborates with partners from within and outside the country, this exhibition displays the work of the ISI Yogyakarta academic community totaling approximately 161 works., 23 works from other higher education partners, and 60 works from overseas partners.
This international exhibition shows that the pandemic has not stopped the creative process of artists. The pandemic has actually encouraged collaboration between artists and art universities so that this international exhibition can be held. Finally, art can be a means to restore life.
