ISI Yogyakarta Craft Study Program Holds International Craft Day #2

Kirya Study Program, Faculty of Fine Arts ISI Yogyakarta in collaboration with Lassale College of the Art Singapore will hold International Craft Day #2 with the theme "Craft as Social Object" on December 13, 2021. International Craft Day #2 which is filled with activities sharing session This event will be held online starting at 09.00 WIB until completion. International Craft Day #2 will present speakers from within and outside the country including Arif Suharson (ISI Yogyakarta), Ginette Chittick (Lassale College of the Art Singapore), Bram Satya (Craftpreneur, Yogyakarta), Priyo Salim (Owner Salim Silver, Yogyakarta), Claudia Guzman (Textile Researcher, Mexico) and Monika Wijaya (SKK Jewelry, Jakarta).

Crafts have come a long way as works of art that represent human culture. The development of human civilization can be seen from the crafts produced. In the end, crafts produced by skilled hands become a medium for the maker to convey various messages. Crafts are not only based on tradition, but also on the problems that surround people, especially in urban life. Craft products have become a social object. To provide an overview of how craft is part of a social object, International Craft Day #2 was organized.

International Craft Day #2 is open to the general public. To join this activity, you can join through the Zoom Meeting application with Meeting ID: 878 2605 9599 and Passcode: 612146. By attending International Craft Day #2, the public will get an overview of craft as a social object from academics and practitioners from within and outside the country.
