The Regent of Bantul, Mr. Joko B. Purnomo opened the #2 Drawing Expert Festival: Para-Sungging at the R.J. Katamsi Gallery on November 25, 2021, at 15.00 WIB. The opening of the exhibition was also attended by the Head of Bantul Culture Office, Mr. Ekonugroho. The Para-Sungging performance will be held from November 26 to December 5, 2021.
The opening of the cast began with remarks from the chairman of the committee Nanang Rakhmad Hidayat, S.Sn., M.Sn and continued with remarks from the Director of Galeri R.J. Katamsi Warsono, S. Sn, M. A. The opening of the cast ended with remarks and ceremonial opening by the Deputy Regent of Bantul, Mr. Joko B. Purnomo. Purnomo. The opening was enlivened with calung music from the Pacul Mas Group, Bantul Thingklung Puppeteer, Ki Kenci Wisnu Aji and Banyumasan Jemblung Puppeteer, Ki Kusno.
The exhibition is open to the general public from November 26 to December 5, 2021 at Galeri R. J. Katamsi ISI Yogyakarta. The exhibition features works from sungging artists from Bantul such as Gendeng, Cabean, Pucung, artists from Krantil and Krebet, Gunungkidul, Sleman, Pacitan, Muntilan, and Magelang. The exhibition was also attended by representatives of lecturers and students from ISI Yogyakarta and ISI Surakarta. The organization of Para-Sungging exhibition is supported by the Department of Puppetry ISI Yogyakarta, Yayasan Wayang Sukasman and Nyala Publisher.
The exhibition is open to the public and free of charge. Please visit from 10:00 to 17:00 every day until December 5, 2021. Visitors to the exhibition are required to wear a mask, wash their hands before entering the gallery and keep their distance while inside the R.J. Katamsi Gallery ISI Yogyakarta.
