Department of Ethnomusicology ISI Yogyakarta Organizes Seminar on Reading Nusantara Music

The Ethnomusicology Study Program, Faculty of Performing Arts ISI Yogyakarta will hold an Ethnomusicology Seminar entitled "Reading Nusantara Music". This ethnomusicology seminar will be held on October 26, 2021, at 15.00 - 17.00 WIB online by utilizing the Zoom Meeting application. Through this seminar, the Ethnomusicology Study Program hopes to be able to provide a description of the archipelago's music to seminar participants. This Ethnomusicology Seminar will present speaker Karl-Edmund Prier.

Karl-Edmund Prier is one of the national music figures and in Yogyakarta. Karl-Edmund Prier is a pioneer of the Liturgical Music Center, especially as a forum for liturgical music inculturation which was founded on July 11, 1971 in Yogyakarta. During his career in music, he has produced many works, especially in the field of liturgical music inculturation, and several other books such as Music History Volume 1 and 2, Music Dictionary, Harmony Science, and other books about music. The books produced by Karl-Edmund Prier have become the main reference in the field of music.
