Sustainable Development Goals The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) list sustainable development goals, with an emphasis on action to address poverty, inequality and climate change. There are three pillars of world development, namely social, economic and environmental, and 17 goals to be achieved by 2030. In this joint exhibition, the artists will try to participate in realizing 2 SDGs goals, namely the 4th goal of quality education (Quality education) and goal 12 Responsible consumption and production (Responsible consumption and production).
Raising environmental issues and sustainable development or Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) is not only an area of prolific to find inspiration, and develop imagination and ideas that can be realized in a new and contemporary way. But more importantly, this area can be a place to foster innovation in work. . SDGs are agenda for change Therefore, innovation in work is necessary.
This exhibition provides a place for women artists to showcase their knowledge, experience, interest and capacity to make art that favors the environment and especially saves natural resources and waste, and is not polluting the environment. Innovation can be realized in the choice of methods & techniques, choice of materials, choice of themes and choice of pronunciation.
Several works will be presented in this exhibition, the first group is those that voice concern for the current state of the environment. Damaged and shrinking ecosystems that cause foxes, elephants and octopuses to suffer and head towards extinction are shown in Devy Ika Nurjanah's work, then the suffering of the earth due to illegal logging and a call to stop hedonic behavior was delivered by Wiwik Sri Wulandari. Furthermore, a striking message about the belief in the strength of women in living life was shown by Laksmi Shitaresmi through the work of The Rhythm of My Life. The second group of artists who focus on innovation in their work is shown by Titiana Irawani with her 3-dimensional object works made from found objects exhaust, and then Djanjang Purwosejati with batik works based on natural dyes, and Ayu Arista Murti voiced the conversation between herself and nature and realized it in multi-media works made from charcoal, plastic waste, and canvas on acrilycboard.
The virtual exhibition, and the works displayed in it, are a sign of our commitment as individuals, as a group or community and as an art higher education institution, to the importance of the SDGs. Bioshpere and humanity must live sustainably, and it requires concrete actions from all of us in our daily lives and especially in the act of creating art.
