FSMR ISI Yogyakarta Strengthens International Reputation Through Strategic Collaboration with Project Eleven Australia

Yogyakarta, April 8, 2026 — The Indonesia Institute of the Arts (ISI) Yogyakarta has once again affirmed its position as an art higher education institution actively building international networks through creative collaboration with Project Eleven, Australia. This cooperation marks a strategic step in strengthening the art and media ecosystem, while simultaneously opening new opportunities for the development of education, artistic collaboration, and the enhancement of human resource capacity within the campus environment.

The collaboration between the Faculty of Recorded Media Arts (FSMR) of ISI Yogyakarta and Project Eleven was formalized through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) as an initial step for the broader development of joint programs. This partnership aims to bridge academic excellence with global creative insights, thereby creating a learning space that is relevant to the developments in the international art and creative industry.

In its implementation, this cooperation includes three main focuses. First, art collaboration, which is realized through joint reception agendas, Australia–Indonesia art forums, and international exhibitions that bring together artists and art practitioners from both countries. Second, the field of education, through the holding of public lectures featuring art collectors from Project Eleven, Australia, as part of strengthening an academic atmosphere that is open to global perspectives. Third, capacity building, which focuses on the development of human resources in the arts, particularly in the Faculty of Recorded Media Art and other related units, with opportunities for expansion into other strategic areas within ISI Yogyakarta.

Through cross-country collaborations like this, ISI Yogyakarta strengthens its role as a growth space for adaptive, competitive creative talents ready to respond to the dynamics of the contemporary cultural landscape.

Konfir Kabo from Project Eleven expressed optimism about the future of this collaboration. He believes that the spirit of openness, enthusiasm, and commitment shown by ISI Yogyakarta are important foundations for building a productive and sustainable relationship. According to him, this positive attitude will create meaningful opportunities and long-term benefits for all parties involved.

For ISI Yogyakarta, this collaboration also reinforces the direction of institutional development that relies on internationalization, strengthening academic quality, and expanding strategic networks. Amidst the increasingly connected development of the art world, the partnership with Project Eleven reflects ISI Yogyakarta's continuous progress as an art higher education institution capable of connecting creativity, knowledge, and global cooperation within a dynamic ecosystem.
