Yogyakarta, January 7, 2026 - The WAINI Fest committee officially announced the extension of the animation film submission period until January 25, 2026. This decision was taken to provide a wider opportunity for participants who are still completing the final process of the work, making minor revisions, or who have not had time to submit their work.
Previously, the submission period was scheduled to end earlier. However, through this extension policy, WAINI Fest reopens the participation space for animators and animation filmmakers to optimally submit their best work. The submission period now runs from January 7 to January 25, 2026.
The organizers said that this time extension is expected to maintain the quality of the submitted works while encouraging more inclusive participation, especially from students and the national animation community. The entire registration and submission process is done online through the FilmFreeway platform at the link filmfreeway.com/WAINI.
Especially for National Category participants, the committee provides a waiver code facility. Participants can contact the committee via email at wainiisiyk@gmail.com to obtain the code in accordance with the applicable provisions.
Through the organization of WAINI Fest, ISI Yogyakarta continues to show its commitment in supporting the animation ecosystem and the national creative industry, while providing a space for appreciation, education, and networking for young talents in the field of animation. The extension of the submission period is expected to strengthen ISI Yogyakarta's role as an adaptive, collaborative, and impactful art campus for the development of Indonesia's arts and creative industries.
