ISI Yogyakarta, November 17, 2025 - The Rector of Institut Seni Indonesia (ISI) Yogyakarta, Dr. Irwandi, M.Sn, together with the leadership made a business trip to East Kalimantan to deliver Dr. Rina Martiara, M.Hum to the Indonesian Institute of Cultural Arts (ISBI) East Kalimantan. Dr. Rina Martiara, who previously served as Head of the Dance Department, Faculty of Performing Arts ISI Yogyakarta, was officially appointed as Acting Rector of ISBI East Kalimantan.
This visit is a form of ISI Yogyakarta's support for strengthening governance and accelerating the development of ISBI Kaltim as a growing cultural arts institution in Eastern Indonesia. The presence of Dr. Irwandi, M.Sn. and the leadership is also a symbol of ISI Yogyakarta's commitment to expanding networks and increasing the strategic role of art universities in national development.
The presence of the Rector of ISI Yogyakarta, Dr. Irwandi, M.Sn and his staff in East Kalimantan is a form of full support from ISI Yogyakarta for the mandate carried out by one of its best academics. Dr. Rina Martiara M.Hum is known for her contributions in the Dance Department and is expected to bring the vision and experience of arts leadership from ISI Yogyakarta to ISBI Kaltim.
In addition to escorting and attending the handover procession, the Rector of ISI Yogyakarta utilized the momentum of the visit to conduct a strategic meeting with the Rector of Mulawarman University (Unmul) and the Regional Secretary of Kutai Kartanegara Regency. This meeting discussed opportunities for cooperation between universities and the possibility of collaboration in the development of cultural arts research, community service programs, and academic activities across institutions.

Dr. Irwandi, M.Sn. said that collaboration between educational institutions and local governments is an important step in expanding the impact of art institutions on society. “ISI Yogyakarta is committed to continuing to strengthen partnerships in various regions. This visit is not only a form of support for Dr. Rina Martiara, but also part of our strategy to build an advanced, adaptive, and relevant art ecosystem for the needs of the nation,” he said.
The appointment of Dr. Rina Martiara as PLT Rector of ISBI Kaltim is expected to encourage the acceleration of academic and institutional programs at the campus. With long experience in the field of performing arts and academic leadership, she is considered capable of bringing ISBI Kaltim towards a more progressive development direction. This activity emphasizes the role of ISI Yogyakarta as a leading art institution that actively builds national networks to support the development of art education in Indonesia.
