Yogyakarta, October 31, 2025 - Institut Seni Indonesia (ISI) Yogyakarta received a delegation from Artevelde University of Applied Sciences, Belgium, on Friday (31/10) in the VIP Meeting Room of ISI Yogyakarta Rectorate Building. This activity is a strategic step in strengthening international cooperation networks in the fields of communication, media and design between the two institutions.
The audience was attended by the Rector of ISI Yogyakarta, Dr. Irwandi, M.Sn., Vice Rector III ISI Yogyakarta, Dr. Muhammad Kholid Arif Rozaq, S.Hut., M.M., along with faculty and study program leaders, including the Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts and Design Muhammad Sholahuddin, S.Sn., MT., Head of the International Affairs Unit, Dr. P. Gogor Bangsa, M.Sn, Media Design program coordinator, and lecturer representatives from the Visual Communication Design study program.


Artevelde University delegate Nicky Malfliet introduced the structure and excellent programs of the Department of Communication, Media and Design, which has more than 2,400 students with eight study programs including international communication, journalism, and digital graphic design. They also presented opportunities for academic collaboration such as student exchange, double degrees, joint research, and the COIL (Collaborative Online International Learning) program. In addition, Artevelde University also reviewed various excellent research in the fields of sustainable packaging, human-centered design with AI, to brand experience through social media, which opened up opportunities for interdisciplinary research collaboration with ISI Yogyakarta.



In his speech, Dr. Irwandi, M.Sn expressed his appreciation and enthusiasm for the international collaboration opportunity. “This collaboration is expected to be a bridge for international curriculum development and the exchange of creative ideas between students and lecturers at both universities,” he said.
Through this meeting, ISI Yogyakarta affirms its commitment to building an open, collaborative, and globally competitive art education ecosystem, in line with the institution's vision to become a center of excellence for art and design education at the international level.
