Fine Arts Study Program Holds Method(o)logic Exhibition, Showing the Open Studio Results of Painting Lecturers ISI Yogyakarta

The Pure Art Study Program, Faculty of Fine Arts and Design, ISI Yogyakarta organized the "Method(o)logic" Exhibition on August 27-September 30, 2024 at the fadjar Sidik Gallery, Faculty of Fine Arts ISI Yogyakarta. This exhibition displays the final results of the open studio process that has been carried out by Amir Hamzah, Deni Junaedi, I Gede Arya Sucitra, M. Agus Burhan, Setyo Priyo Nugroho, Wiyono and Y. F. Yudhistira who are artists and painting lecturers of ISI Yogyakarta. The exhibition was opened by Dr. M. Kholid Arif Rozaq, S.Hut., M.M, Vice Rector III ISI Yogyakarta and attended by the Head of the Faculty of Fine Arts, lecturers, students, artists and invited guests.

Open studio itself is a concept or activity in the art world that is generally held in an academic environment or art studio. In Open studio, artists or art students display their creative process openly to the public or actors in the art environment, both artists, curators, critics, writers, galleries and so on. Open studio emphasizes the concept of sharing experiences from the process of creating works from art lecturers.

According to the exhibition curator, Satrio Hari Wicaksono, who is also a lecturer at the Fine Arts Study Program of ISI Yogyakarta, the Open studio conducted by the painting lecturers of ISI Yogyakarta is part of the learning process and is a part of the learning process. sharing experience for the academic community of ISI Yogyakarta which was previously carried out internally. However, then this open studio was opened to the general public on July 27, 2024, along with the opening of the "RIWAYAT" exhibition which was an introduction to better understand the characteristics, interests and visual concepts of the lecturers who carried out the open studio activities.

The exhibition "Method(o)logic" was organized to showcase the creation process carried out during the open studio. As a result of the open studio process, the process of discussion, dialogue and input from many parties during the program, both internally and for the public, certainly more or less provides additional perceptions and perspectives for the artists. The 'maturation' process is what the artists want to present in this exhibition.
