Head of Art Management Study Program becomes a resource person for UGM History Study Program Summer School

Head of the Art Management Study Program, Faculty of Fine Arts, ISI Yogyakarta, Dr. Mikke Susanto, MA. is one of the speakers of the Summer School organized by the UGM History Study Program from 5 to 10 August. Dr. Mikke Susanto, MA. will deliver a presentation entitled "The Price of Raden Saleh's Paintings" on August 8, 2024.

Raden Saleh's painting titled "The Capture of Prince Diponegoro", which is now in President Joko Widodo's office, was first calculated for its asset value in 2010 at Rp. 150 billion. It was then recalculated in 2016 (six years later and just in time to be presented in the exhibition of the Indonesian Presidential Palace collection at the National Gallery entitled "17/71: Goresan Juang Kemerdekaan") for Rp. 250 billion.

8 years after the calculation, what is the current price of the painting? Once calculated, is this work about Prince Diponegoro roughly equivalent to the work of Picasso or Warhol or Leonardo da Vinci? The answer will be presented through a presentation by Dr. Mikke Susanto, MA.
