DKV Study Program Collaborates with Bumi Langit Entertainment Corpora

Under the umbrella of the Independent Campus Competition Program (PKKM) 2024. DKV Study Program has developed a partnership on June 19-20, 2024 with Bumi Langit. The partnership development was attended by the PKKM team from DKV Study Program, Daru Tunggul Aji, Alit Ayu Dewantari, Lily Elserisa, and Indiria Maharis. Meanwhile, Bumi Langit was attended by Wim Berlinawan as General Manager, Bumilangit Studios and the team from Bumi Langit.

The follow-up to the partnership development is the implementation of the cooperation in the form of an internship. Established in 2003, Bumi Langit is a character-based company in Asia, located in Jakarta. BumiLangit is recorded as managing the largest character library with more than 1,200 comic characters that have been published in the last sixty years. The strength of our characters is not only based on popularity, but also on the richness of each character's story.

Bumilangit's main businesses are in comic publishing, film and TV series production, animation production, and licensing, one of which is through Jagat Sinema Bumilangit, which launched in August 2019 with Gundala (2019) as the opening film of the universe. Gundala (2019) became Indonesia's most successful superhero film and was officially selected for the Midnight Madness screening program at the 2019 Toronto International Film Festival.

DKV Study Program and Bumilangit already have a track record of collaboration, noted in 2012 and 2017 Bumilangit participated in the National Comic Festival event. And in 2022, collaboration was established through workshops in the Comsequence 2022 event (Comic and sequential art festival). This track record is the basis for the formulation of the DKV Study Program partnership development, moreover, DKV Study Program has a comics course which characterizes DKV, FSR, ISI Yogyakarta.

Through PKKM, DKV Study Program designs activities to improve student competence through out-of-class activities, one of which is an internship program. Together with Bumilangit, an agreement was reached to collaborate in student internship activities, and involved 5 students from DKV Study Program, FSR, ISI Yogyakarta. Previously, the DKV Study Program had conducted socialization, and carried out a selection mechanism for internships at Bumilangit. The five students are Athalla Naufal, Eduardus Abhista Rastra Utama, Refita Chandra Andini, Aufah, Tara Keisha. The internship will take place from August to November.
