Galeri R. J. Katamsi ISI Yogyakarta in collaboration with Jogja Disability Arts Foundation, Unlimited Project and British Council held an art exhibition titled Artrasa from July 13 to 18, 2024, at Galeri Radjar Sidik, Faculty of Fine Arts, ISI Yogyakarta. The exhibition features paintings and photographs by disabled artists from Cardiff, UK and Yogyakarta.
The opening of the exhibition was held on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at the R.J. Katamsi Gallery, at 15.30 WIB until completion. The opening ceremony featured a musical performance by the disabled music group "Gandana". The group played musical instruments that they made using the tools they have been using such as sticks that they made into guitars, wheelchairs that were used as droups and many other musical instruments.
The Artrasa exhibition is part of the "Artrasa Festival". Art Festival is a mini festival organized by Jogja Disability Arts Foundation and partners as a joint activity between disabled and non-disabled artists. Artrasa features a variety of artistic offerings, including art exhibitions, murals, music, and theater. Artrasa invites artists from different backgrounds and outside artists as artists in residence. Apart from presenting individual works, Artrasa will also present collaborative works.
The exhibition is open to the general public and is free of charge. Please watch the exhibition from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm every day. Let us appreciate the work of disabled artists by watching this exhibition.
