Rector of ISI Yogyakarta, Dr. Irwandi, M.Sn. became one of the speakers at the Hearing Meeting held by the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia (DPR RI) with the topic "Financing Higher Education" on Thursday, June 27, 2024, in the Meeting Room of Commission X DPR RI, Nusantara I Building, 1st Floor, at 10.00 WIB until completion. At this Hearing Meeting, Dr. Irwandi, M.Sn. delivered a presentation on higher education financing at ISI Yogyakarta as a representative of the work unit university. The Hearing was organized by the Education Financing Working Committee of Commission X of the House of Representatives as an effort to obtain input on the amount of higher education costs from the leaders of state universities. The Hearing was chaired by the Vice Chairman of Commission X or Chairman of the Education Financing Working Committee, Dr. Dede Yusuf, M.E., M.I.Pol.
The hearing was also attended by the Rector of the University of Indonesia, the Rector of Hasanuddin University, the Rector of Riau University, the Rector of Nusa Cendana University Kupang, the Rector of the Indonesian Institute of Arts and Culture (ISBI) Bandung, the Director of Semarang State Polytechnic, and the Director of Sriwijaya State Polytechnic Palembang. The leaders of each university presented the financing scheme in their respective universities and various inputs regarding university financing.
Exposure materials and input submitted by the speakers are an integral part of the hearing that has been held. The substance of the exposure will be a reference in the preparation of recommendations from the Education Financing Working Committee of Commission X DPR RI to the Government.
