Thursday, January 25, 2024 was the first lecture of the "Art Review" course for students of the S1 Art Management Study Program, Faculty of Fine Arts, ISI Yogyakarta. This class is an interesting moment because this semester is filled by one of the well-known practitioners in the field of Indonesian film, namely Dr. (HC.) Garin Nugroho, S.Sn. Garin Nugroho nugroho is one of the senior figures in the world of film in Indonesia, his big name is certainly a guarantee between the material provided.
For 1.5 hours, the lecture was filled with solid material. This inaugural lecture was initially opened by the Head of the Art Management Department, Dr. Mikke Susanto, then entered the main session which was filled by Garin Nugroho. The content was extraordinary, ranging from history as the foundation of the art profession, cultural / art diplomacy, the industrial revolution in the development of art, and also the connection between society and the art industry.
This inaugural lecture was the first time Garin Nugroho joined the Art Review class. In the next sessions, the program will hold a joint public lecture. It is also planned that this lecture will not always be in class so as to make it more comfortable for students to take the "Art Review" course.
