Kunjungan ini dilakukan dalam rangka membangun kerjasama antara kedua lembaga pendidikan tinggi. Delegasi FSR ISI Yogyakarta yang dipimpin oleh Dekan M. Sholahudin, S.Sn.,M.T., didampingi oleh Pembantu Rektor II ISI Yogyakarta, Dr. Suryati M.Hum, Pembantu Dekan di lingkungan FSR ISI Yogyakarta, Sekretaris Program Studi dan perwakilan dosen dan Humas ISI Yogyakarta. Pada kunjungan ini delegasi FSR ISI Yogyakarta disambut dengan hangat oleh Pusat Pengajian Seni, Universiti Sains Malaysia yang dipimpin oleh Prof. Madya Dr. Sarena binti Abdullah.

On this occasion M. Sholahudin, S.Sn., M.T. as Dean of FSR ISI Yogyakarta conveyed the profile of the faculty and the potential for cooperation that might be carried out by the two institutions such as student exchanges, exchange of teaching staff, organizing joint exhibitions, the potential for further study for ISI Yogyakarta lecturers at Universiti Sains Malaysia and other joint activities. The cooperation that will be carried out between FSR ISI Yogyakarta and Universiti Sains Malaysia is expected to develop into external cooperation in all faculties at ISI Yogyakarta, said Assistant Rector II, ISI Yogyakarta Dr. Suryati, M.Hum. According to Prof. Madya Dr. Sarena binti Abdullah, various concepts of cooperation can be carried out and need a legal umbrella through the signing of MoUs and MoAs.
Along with this activity, an exhibition of several artworks by students and lecturers of FSR ISI Yogyakarta was also held at the Art Study Center building, Universiti Sains Malaysia. The works on display include posters, sketches, sculptures, batik, paintings and catalogs produced by FSR ISI Yogyakarta students. The exhibition was enthusiastically welcomed by the academic community of Universiti Sains Malaysia.
