French Ambassador to Indonesia Fabien Panone accompanied by Director of Institut français Indonésie, Jules Irrmann and Director of Institut français Indonésie Yogyakarta, Francois Dabin paid a working visit to ISI Yogyakarta on Friday, October 6, 2023. The French Ambassador to Indonesia and his entourage were received by the Rector of ISI Yogyakarta, Dr. Irwandi, M.Sn. and ISI Yogyakarta Leaders in Meeting Room I, ISI Yogyakarta Rectorate. The visit to ISI Yogyakarta aims to open cooperation between universities in France and ISI Yogyakarta as one of the largest art universities in Indonesia.
The procession of receiving the visit began with remarks from Dr. Irwandi, M.Sn. as the highest leader of ISI Yogyakarta. In his remarks, the Rector of ISI Yogyakarta, Dr. Irwandi, M.Sn. said that ISI Yogyakarta continues to strive to build cooperation with various institutions both at home and abroad. ISI Yogyakarta has also long collaborated with Institut français Indonésie Yogyakarta or Institut français Indonésie Yogyakarta Surabaya to organize various events such as exhibitions or residency activities. Hopefully this meeting will further improve the quality and quantity of cooperation that has been carried out.
After remarks from the Rector of ISI Yogyakarta, the event continued with remarks from the French Ambassador to Indonesia Fabien Panone. In his remarks, Fabien Panone said that his goal in coming to ISI Yogyakarta was to increase the level of local cooperation to a higher level. Furthermore, Fabien Panone said that he would introduce ISI Yogyakarta to universities in France so as to enable ISI Yogyakarta to collaborate with universities in France. This effort is made to increase the number of Indonesian students who will study in France and vice versa.
To increase the number of Indonesian students studying in France, they can take advantage of the Indonesian International Student Mobility Award program known as IISMA and to facilitate French students who want to study in Indonesia, they can take advantage of the Darmasiswa scholarship program from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology, said the head of the International Affairs Unit of ISI Yogyakarta, Silvia Anggrani Purba, S.Sn., M.Sn.
The visit of the French Ambassador to Indonesia was closed with the handover of souvenirs from the Rector of ISI Yogyakarta to the French Ambassador and a visit to DKV Fair 2023. The French Ambassador to Indonesia Fabien Panone and his entourage witnessed various works produced by students of the Visual Communication Design Study Program at ISI Yogyakarta which were displayed at DKV Fair 2023.
