The Rector of ISI Yogyakarta, Prof. Dr. Timbul Raharjo, M.Hum. opened a kethoprak performance entitled Satria Pinilih on Friday, July 28, 2023, at 19.30, at the ISI Yogyakarta Art Laboratory. This Kethoprak performance is a work program of the UPT Concert Hall and ISI Yogyakarta Art Laboratory in 2023 and as an effort to enliven the 39th Anniversary of ISI Yogyakarta. This kethoprak performance is the result of collaboration between ISI Yogyakarta academicians, former ISI Yogyakarta staff, employees and alumni of ISI Yogyakarta, selected ISI Yogyakarta academicians, former ISI Yogyakarta staff, employees and alumni of ISI Yogyakarta. The performance featured two guest stars Didik Nini Thowok and Mamuk Rahmadona who are alumni of the Dance Department of ISI Yogyakarta.
Through the story of "Satria Pinilih", it is hoped that the audience and art-culture lovers can take the essence that happiness achieved by seizing power and other people's rights is not eternal. However, struggle, perseverance, sincere and wholehearted devotion, is actually the answer to success.
The scriptwriter of this ketoprak "Satria Pinilih" is Gandung Djatmiko who is also the Head of UPT Concert Hall and Art Laboratory ISI Yogyakarta. The director of this performance is Agus Leyloor. Krisna Nuryanta is the accompanist. M.Sugiyarto and M.G. Sugiyati as fashion stylists.
In his remarks, the Rector of ISI Yogyakarta, Prof. Dr. Timbul Raharjo, M.Hum. said that performances such as this kethoprak can be opened to the general public so that people know the quality of art products produced by ISI Yogyakarta. Satria Pinilih kethoprak is not only witnessed by ISI Yogyakarta academic community but also local residents and kethoprak lovers community in Yogyakarta and Magelang.
