Art Management Study Program and Partners Hold Workshop on Inventory of Fine Art Works

The Art Management Study Program, Faculty of Fine Arts ISI Yogyakarta in collaboration with Taman Budaya Yogyakarta and the Indonesian Visual Art Archive (IVAA) will hold a Workshop on Inventory of Fine Art Works. The workshop is planned to be held on Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at 10:00 am-Finish, at the Seminar Room of Taman Budaya Yogyakarta. This workshop is organized in conjunction with the Taman Budaya Yogyakarta Collection Exhibition.

Inventory is part of collection management, namely by identifying, documenting, and then organizing objects that become collections. With inventory, it is expected that every object (work) in the collection is recorded and well documented. The information in these inventory records can be used for further activities such as exhibitions, publications, and research.

Well-documented data will enable researchers to use it in their research to produce accurate and useful information in appreciating artworks. Inventories also help collectors or institutions that own artworks to maintain their collections.

For the manager, the inventory will also help determine the value of the object, including its importance. The value of the object will help the institution to manage risks in storage, use, and borrowing. What are the steps in the works inventory process that need to be done? To answer these questions, the speakers will be Sektiadi, S.S., M.Hum (Lecturer in Archaeology at Universitas Gadjah Mada/UGM), Dwi Rahmanto (Head of Archives at Indonesian Visual Art Archive/IVAA) and Rulli Meilia, S.Sn (Maestro Tienuk Rifki Archivist/Alumi ISI Yogyakarta). The workshop on Inventory of Fine Art Works will be guided by moderator Ayu Maun Nadhifah.
