The Ethnomusicology study program, Faculty of Performing Arts ISI Yogyakarta, has a lecturer from the United States, Sean Heyward. This guest lecturer from the United States will teach one semester greetings in the Ethnomusicology Study Program, precisely in the Ganap Semester of the 2022/2023 academic year. Sean Heyward will teach on the topic of intercultural composition in the Ethnomusicology Study Program. The presence of Sean Heyward adds new experiences not only for students but also lecturers in the Ethnomusicology Study Program related to intercultural composition.
Sean Heyward is an American lecturer who graduated from the Doctoral Program, California Institute of the Arts. He is also a composer and performer whose main competence is guitar and who loves Javanese gamelan. He has conducted various researches on Indonesian traditional music and Javanese gamelan.
The presence of Sean Heyward to teach at ISI Yogyakarta's Ethnomusicology Study Program is the result of a collaboration between ISI Yogyakarta and AMINEF (American Indonesia Exchange Foundation). ISI Yogyakarta and AMINEF have a strong tradition of cooperation to continue to bring lecturers and research fellows for ISI Yogyakarta lecturers. Hopefully this collaboration will continue to be fostered and provide benefits for both countries.
