The Faculty of Performing Arts ISI Yogyakarta in collaboration with the Association of Indonesian Ethnomusicology Study Programs (APSEI) and the Indonesian Ethnomusicology Society will hold the 2022 Ethnomusicology International Seminar on November 12, 2022 at the Public Lecture Building of the Faculty of Performing Arts ISI Yogyakarta, at 09.00 WIB - finished. This international seminar takes the theme "Measuring the Discourse of Ecology, Religion, and Education in Ethnomusicology".
Traditional music in Indonesia has the power to care for ecology through the practice of spirituality/religiousness, and education in society in traditional and modern contexts. These three aspects are intertwined into a cultural entity that should be produced as a sustainable and sustainable knowledge. The matter can be discussed warmly using Ethnomusicology glasses through case studies of musical cultural phenomena that are conservative and innovative in text and context. The main focus of this seminar is the existence of Ethnomusicology in an effort to build and maintain ecology, religion, and education in a cultural ecosystem in the context of tradition to modern. The hope is that scientific studies will be created that strengthen the repertoire of Ethnomusicology with the output of scientific papers to works in the context of applied ethnomusicology.
The International Seminar on Ethnomusicology 2022 will present speakers including Prof. Dr. Shahanum Shah (Professor of Music Universiti Teknologi Mara Malaysia), Dr. Surasak Jamnongsam (Ethnomusicologist Srinakharinwot University Thailand), Kathryn Anne Emerson, P.hD (Researcher and Practitioner of Javanese Performing Arts), Prof. Dr. Victor Ganap, M.Ed. (Ethnomusicologist & Musicologist ISI Yogyakarta), Prof. Dr. Triyono Bramantyo (Professor of Musicologist ISI Yogyakarta), Dr. I Nyoman Cau Arsana.., S.Sn., M.Hum. (Head of Department of Ethnomusicology ISI Yogyakarta). This seminar will present keynote speakers Prof. Dr. I Made Bandem, M.A. (Ethnomusicologist and Rector of ISI Yogyarta 1996-2006). This International Ethnomusicology Seminar will be guided by two moderators Drs. Krismus Purba, M.Hum. and Drs. Joko Tri Laksono, M.A., M.M.
The 2022 International Seminar on Ethnomusicology also invites practitioners, researchers and academics in the field of ethnomusicology to submit abstracts and papers. Submission of paper abstracts is no later than October 31, 2022 and the announcement of abstracts received on November 1, 2022.
