Galeri R.J. Katamsi ISI Yogyakarta and Art Popup will organize a discussion with the theme "Blockchain in Indonesia and Scarcity of Crypto Art / NFT" on April 9, 2022, at 19.00 to 20.00 WIB. The discussion with the theme "Blockchain in Indonesia and Scarcity of Crypto Art / NFT" will be livestreamed from the R.J. Katamsi Gallery ISI Yogyakarta through the DailySosial Youtube channel. This discussion will present two speakers, namely Sudjud Dartanto (Researcher, Art Curator and Lecturer at ISI Yogyakarta) and Dr. Ir. I Nyoman Adhiarna, M.Eng. (Director of Digital Economy Kemenkominfo).
Blockchain technology is currently familiar to the general public, which is widely known in the form of Cryptocurrency to NFTs. NFTs have various potentials to create value for the work of an artist, because they are transparent and also traceable. We can see the track record of an artist. Can NFTs revolutionize the art world? Today, many actors have emerged in the ecosystem with various roles and innovations. How can the government monitor and safeguard while encouraging their growth?
The questions above will be answered by the speakers. The speakers who are practitioners, academics and representatives of policy makers are expected to be able to answer and explain the various questions above. Hopefully, the presentation from both speakers can be an inspiration to further optimize NFT so that it can improve the welfare of artists in the country.
