Jogja International Jazz Camp (JogJac) 2021 Hosted at ISI Yogyakarta

The D4 Music Presentation Study Program, Faculty of Performing Arts, ISI Yogyakarta collaborates with the Jog Jac Committee to organize . This event invites all jazz lovers in the country to join the Jogja International Jazz Camp, which will be held on November 25-28, 2021 at the Faculty of Performing Arts, ISI Yogyakarta. JogJac 2021 was organized as an effort to support the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) program. This event will be a 28-hour intensive music education program with a variety of instruments. The education process will be carried out by Indonesian educators who have been at the international level and international musicians from the United States, Netherlands, Germany, Brazil and Poland. The jazz teachers who will provide material in Jogjac 2021 include:

  1. Mike Del Ferro from the Netherlands for piano class
  2. Olaf Keus from America - Netherlands for drum class
  3. Rubem Farias from Sweden-Brazil for electric & double bass class
  4. Kuba Skowronski from Poland for saxophone, piano & combo class
  5. Nita Aartsen from Indonesia for vocal and piano classes

JogJac was organized as a continuation of the Bali International Jazz Camp held in 2020. ISI Yogyakarta was chosen as the venue for the Jazz Camp because it is considered to have complete facilities, a musical climate that supports some of the meeting places for aspiring young musicians from various regions in Indonesia.

This event aims to bring ISI Yogyakarta music students and the general public closer to experts and practitioners in the world of the jazz music industry. Students can directly learn from experts in the world of the jazz music industry, so it is hoped that they will gain knowledge, insights and skills that are in line with the development of the music industry, especially jazz. For 3 days the participants will get material about knowledge about jazz, namely; history, rhythmThe showcase recital will feature a variety of jazz music styles, harmonies, and techniques. The showcase recital will conclude the Jogja International Jazz Camp (JogJac) 2021. This showcase recital will involve all participants and teachers to collaborate on various stages.
