Lecturer of the Art Management Study Program, FSR ISI Yogyakarta, Dr. Mikke Susanto, MA. became one of the speakers in a webinar entitled "Preserving Historical Objects". This webinar is a series of Javanese Culture 2021 webinar & workshop activities organized by Kraton Yogyakarta. It is planned that the webinar will be held on Saturday, July 17, 2021, at 09.00 to 11.00 WIB. In this webinar, Dr. Mikke Susanto will convey about follow-up, studies, or opportunities that can be carried out if the management of historical objects in Indonesia can be carried out in a more structured manner.
Another speaker in this webinar is Dr. Matthew Cohen from Yale University, USA. Dr. Matthew Cohen will talk about the lessons contained in the stories of the wayang puppets stored at Yale University, especially the wayang panji which comes from the original culture of Indonesia. Many historical objects from Indonesia are currently stored abroad. Yale University in the United States, for example, stores and studies more than 20,000 wayang collections from Java.
This webinar will be moderated by Bonie Triyana, historian and editor-in-chief of historia.id. historia.id. is one of the institutions that has organized several discussions on the repatriation of historical objects from Indonesia abroad, including the keris of Prince Diponegoro.
