Dies Natalis XXXV Lustrum VII ISI Yogyakarta 2019 this time takes the theme "Artificial Intelligence in Art in the Era of the Industrial Revolution 4.0". We raise this theme based on phenomena that occur in Indonesia and the world. Seeing the achievements that have occurred for five years and the need for reflection towards the era of the industrial revolution 4.0. The industrial revolution 4.0 is an integration between the online internet world and the world of business or production in an industry that can support all fields, one of which is in the academic world. This means that all academic activity processes are supported by advances in information technology that are fully automated. The industrial revolution 4.0 is expected to produce a rapid and comprehensive transformation, so countries in the world including Indonesia must prepare for it. The five main technologies that will support the implementation of industry 4.0 are the internet of things, artificial intelligence, human-machine interface, robot and sensor technology, and 3D printing technology.
The development of artificial intelligence (AI) is currently moving very fast and experiencing rapid progress in various fields of human life, ranging from health, agriculture, and even education. By combining artificial intelligence and natural human intelligence, individual potential can be maximized and it is possible to achieve extraordinary achievements.
ISI Yogyakarta as an art education institution that produces art products, namely works of study and creation of art and art people, must be able to capture changes in the industrial revolution 4.0 which are reflected in human resources and supporting infrastructure. Seeing the phenomena that occur in the era of globalization and looking at webometrics, ISI Yogyakarta needs to make improvements and developments related to information technology supported by facilities and infrastructure as well as competent human resources in their fields. For this reason, Dies Natalis XXXV Lustrum VII Institut Seni Indonesia in 2019 carries the theme "Artificial Intelligence in Art in the Era of the Industrial Revolution 4.0"
As a form of concrete activities in the implementation of the theme of Dies Natalis XXXV Lustrum VII ISI Yogyakarta, a series of activities will be held in the campus environment, such as fine art and photography exhibitions; performing arts performances; television screenings, films and animations; lustrum book launches; and supported by art competitions in various fields of art in each faculty. This is an effort to invite and stimulate the active role of the academic community together with the wider community in appreciating art in the hope that it can provide inspiration to welcome the era of the industrial revolution 4.0.
There needs to be an affirmation of the efforts that must be made as part of the anniversary resolution. Celebrating dies natalis with entertainment activities is worth holding if it can be part of the effort to build a new organizational culture and build sportsmanship. Especially if the activity contributes positively to the revitalization of internal organizational culture, the relationship between lecturers and students or vice versa, and the relationship between students. Similarly, there is no prohibition to organize serious activities with a scientific character, such as things that support academics to promote or disseminate about issues related to the image of education to a graduate's competitiveness.
The purpose of the celebration of Dies Natalis XXXV Lustrum VII ISI Yogyakarta in 2019 is to present the various achievements of the teaching and learning process of the three faculties, the Faculty of Fine Arts, the Faculty of Performing Arts, and the Faculty of Recording Media Arts as well as trying to interpret the theme of the celebration that has been chosen and decided by the leadership of ISI Yogyakarta. And the goal is to foster togetherness, care, familiarity, kinship of the entire ISI Yogyakarta academic community as a large family and provide opportunities for the wider community to interact and gain appreciation for various fields of art and provide inspiration in the art world to welcome the era of the industrial revolution 4.0.
