Yogyakarta, January 22, 2026 - Welcoming the arrival of the holy month of Ramadan, the Faculty of Recording Media Arts (FSMR) of Institut Seni Indonesia (ISI) Yogyakarta through a series of activities themed “Islamic Light Echoes” held a competition that became a space for expression of talent, faith, and creativity of the younger generation. This activity presents three branches of competition, namely MTQ, Adhan, and Calligraphy.
The “Echoes of Islamic Light” competition is designed not just as a competition, but as a platform to showcase the best version of oneself, convey messages of kindness, and at the same time enliven the atmosphere of welcoming Ramadan with works and voices that are full of appreciation.
The series of activity schedules include Technical Meeting on January 25, 2026, Implementation Day on January 31, 2026, and Winner Announcement on February 1, 2026.
The three competitions include:
- MTQ (Art of Reciting the Qur'an) - participants chant the holy verses of the Qur'an according to the rules of tajweed, the art of song, and the adab tilawah.
- Adhan - featuring soul-stirring adhan recitations that emphasize the accuracy of the lafadz and the feeling of appreciation.
- Calligraphy - displaying the beauty of letters as a form of love for the Qur'an through calligraphy works.
Through this activity, ISI Yogyakarta emphasizes its commitment as an arts campus that not only encourages creative achievement, but also supports spiritual and cultural values in the art education space.
In the poster released by the committee, this competition is open to Muslim participants from among students and students of various levels. Participants are required to attend the technical meeting, obey the rules, be present before the competition starts for registration, and wear neat and polite clothes. The committee also said that the competition is free of charge and participants will receive an e-certificate after the event.
