ISI Yogyakarta Students Represent Indonesia at CHANDI SUMMIT 2025 Bali

ISI Yogyakarta - Students of Institut Seni Indonesia (ISI) Yogyakarta have again made achievements at the international level. Fiora Alicia, a student of the Theater Study Program, Faculty of Performing Arts ISI Yogyakarta, became one of the Indonesian delegates in the CHANDI SUMMIT 2025 event which was held on 3-5 September 2025 in Sanur, Bali.

CHANDI SUMMIT 2025 (Culture, Heritage, Art, Narrative, Diplomacy, and Innovation Summit) is an international cultural conference that brings together artists, academics, researchers, and cultural practitioners from various countries. This activity carries the theme "Culture for the Future" and aims to strengthen cross-cultural understanding in the context of the preservation of intangible cultural heritage (intangible cultural heritage).

The forum, which was attended by delegates from 50 countries, became a strategic space for cultural actors to discuss global issues related to art, cultural diplomacy, innovation, and preservation of cultural heritage. With Bali as the host, this activity also confirms Indonesia's position as the center of world culture.

During the three-day event, the participants participated in a series of interactive and educational activities, including visits to the Arudana Museum and Penglipuran Village in Bali to learn about local wisdom, as well as a workshop on how to make local food. canang sari as part of the cultural practices of Balinese Hindu society.

In addition, the delegates participated in a discussion session at ISI Bali on the theme of "The Future of Intangible Cultural Heritage" which highlighted the importance of cultural heritage in the modern era. Fiora Alicia also attended Panel Discussion 4 with the theme of "Responding to Climate Risks to Heritage and Fostering Culture-Based Climate Action"This is a program that emphasizes the role of culture in addressing the challenges of climate change.

Fiora said that the experience of participating in CHANDI SUMMIT 2025 was a valuable opportunity to broaden her views on the importance of maintaining culture in the midst of globalization.

"This cultural conference really broadened my view on the importance of preserving culture and heritage, especially for artists. I learned a lot, met great people from different countries, and understood how the younger generation is key in preserving cultural memory and sustainability in the future," said Fiora.

Through this participation, ISI Yogyakarta students not only act as active participants in international cultural forums, but also help introduce the work of Indonesian art universities in the global arena.

CHANDI SUMMIT 2025 aims to develop global insights in the field of arts and culture, build international networks between students and cultural actors, and raise awareness of the importance of preserving local arts and culture in the midst of modernization.

Fiora Alicia's participation in this forum is expected to strengthen the academic and artistic contributions of ISI Yogyakarta students at the international level, as well as inspire the younger generation to continue developing Indonesia's cultural diplomacy.
