The Story of Six ISI Yogyakarta Alumni who Go Global, Continue to Nanjing University of the Arts, China.

Bantul, September 10, 2025 - From the art campus to the world stage, six alumni of Institut Seni Indonesia (ISI) Yogyakarta are taking a big step: they will pursue a master's degree in Art Management at Nanjing University of the Arts, China. They have this opportunity through a three-year full scholarship from the China Scholarship Council (CSC).

This golden opportunity did not come suddenly. Since 2017, ISI Yogyakarta delegates have sent students to Nanjing, until it was stopped during the pandemic. Now, sending is resumed, proving the resilience and sustainability of cross-country cooperation between campuses.

Although 10 scholarship quotas were available, only six alumni qualified to leave this year. Alumni who successfully obtained the scholarship include Miranti Yasmininingrum Susanto (Product Design), Grace Sarah Pasaribu (Product Design), Khansa Syahla (Art Management), Yuseva Ayu Nourmalinda (Art Management), Corina Pepayosa Ginting (Animation) and Dea Arnelia Kitris Wirabhayu (Animation).

Not only do they receive free tuition, but also dormitory, monthly stipend and full access to campus facilities. What's more, their curriculum includes Chinese language learning, with the opportunity to earn an HSK certificate - an important key to pursuing a doctoral degree.

"A total of 32 ISI Yogyakarta alumni have continued their master's education in Nanjing ... 99 percent graduated on time," said Dr. Yulriawan Dafri, lecturer in the Craft Department as well as coordinator of the advanced study program. He hopes that the alumni who leave 'drive' cross-cultural creativity, then return to Indonesia to strengthen the quality of art education and make ISI Yogyakarta a world-class university.

Now, they stand on the threshold of a new chapter-grasping a global pen while crafting a big dream to ground the values of art in the country.
