The Ethnomusicology Study Program (Prodi), FSP ISI Yogyakarta will hold the First Symposium of Ethnomusicology for All on November 13-14, 2025. With the theme "Local Music, Global Impact: Ethnomusicology for All", this symposium is an academic space that will present discussions across generations, cultures, and disciplines.
Various important topics will be the focus of discussion, including applied ethnomusicology as a bridge between research and community empowerment, the challenges of the digital generation in maintaining musical heritage, the sustainability of traditional music in the streaming era, and new models of participatory research based on academic and community collaboration.
This activity also opens scientific publication opportunities for participants. Selected papers will be published in the journals Resital (Scopus Q1), Selonding (Sinta 5), and Applied Ethnomusicology (ISSN).
The organizers set the deadline for abstract submission to September 30, 2025, with the announcement of acceptance on October 3, 2025, and the deadline for full manuscript submission on November 3, 2025.
