The Photography Study Program of the Faculty of Recording Media Arts, Institut Seni Indonesia (ISI) Yogyakarta, held the 17th Sewon Photography Week (PFS) as part of the students' Final Project presentation. With the theme "Sweet Seventeen", this exhibition is a momentum of celebration as well as a creative reflection of students who have traveled a long journey in the academic world and the art of photography.
Held on June 18-28, 2025 at the RJ Katamsi Gallery, this event presents a variety of activities, ranging from an exhibition of Final Project works, artist talk sessions, panel discussions, gallery tours, to a music performance entitled Jaming. In addition, activities such as Hunting Full of Smiles became a place for relaxation and creative interaction in the campus environment.
The theme "Sweet Seventeen" was chosen as a symbol of transition into adulthood, depicting passion, exploration of visual identity, and achievement celebrated with a retro-pop design style. This exhibition is not only a space to showcase works, but also a means to share ideas and establish interactions between students, academics, artists, and the public.
The series of PFS #17 events were also enlivened by interactive discussions with the authors, sharing sessions with professional speakers, and music performances from various student bands. This event became a public showcase for academic achievements in the form of creation and study theses, and at the same time encouraged the existence of photography as a reflective and communicative artistic medium.
With a distinctive visual identity using the colors pink, gold, and blue, PFS #17 appears as a celebration of achievement, courage of expression, and the spirit of collaboration across generations. Through this activity, ISI Yogyakarta Photography students showed their readiness to work in the wider world of fine arts and visual media.
