The Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in The Hague, in collaboration with the Faculty of Fine Arts and Design of Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) and Institut Seni Indonesia (ISI) Yogyakarta, is organizing an art and archive exhibition, workshop and symposium with the theme "Verleden - Heden (Past - Present)". These events will be held from June 13 to July 13, 2023, at the Center for Indonesian Culture and Language (Indonesian School of The Hague), Rijksstraatweg 679, The Netherlands.
"Verleden - Heden (Past - Present)" is a program to fill this gap, through the organization of exhibitions, art symposiums/discussions, and workshops. The program features a cross-section of works and archives representing art schools, namely the Faculty of Fine Arts and Design at Institut Teknologi Bandung (FSRD-ITB) and Institut Seni Indonesia, Yogyakarta (ISI Yogyakarta) to explore the historical significance and transnational development of art schools in Indonesia, tracing the evolutive development from traditional academies to modern educational institutions.
The art and archive exhibition will be held from June 13 to July 13, 2025 and opens on June 13, 2025. An international symposium with the theme "Navigating the Network: Art Schools Today" will be held on June 13, 16, 17, 2025. While "Art Talks & Workshops" will be held from June 14 to July 12, 2025.
