ISI Yogyakarta Lecturers and Students Showcase Their Work at International Photography Exhibition in Turkey

A total of 68 photographic works including 10 works from students and lecturers of ISI Yogyakarta were exhibited at the international photography exhibition entitled "The Beauty of Indonesia" held at FIAP Exhibition Center, Ankara, Turkey. This exhibition is an important momentum in displaying the richness of Indonesian culture and nature through photography, with the active involvement of lecturers and students from the Indonesian Institute of the Arts of Yogyakarta (ISI Yogyakarta). The exhibition runs from March 15 to 30, 2025 and is part of the celebration of 75 years of diplomatic relations between Indonesia and Turkey.

With a variety of themes, ranging from the majestic landscapes of the archipelago to meaningful cultural rituals, the academics and students of ISI Yogyakarta showed that photography is not just a visual art, but also an effective cultural communication tool.

Indonesia's Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Teuku Riefky Harsya, appreciated ISI Yogyakarta's involvement in the exhibition. "The participation of ISI Yogyakarta students and lecturers shows how photography has an important role in the creative industry. It is not just about aesthetics, but also about how art can be a cultural bridge between countries," he said.

The Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Turkey, Achmad Rizal Purnama, added that the exhibition emphasized Indonesia's values of diversity and togetherness. "Through photography, we can introduce Indonesian culture and traditions more deeply to the world community, including in Turkey," he said.

"The Beauty of Indonesia" exhibition is expected to be a starting point for more cooperation between the Indonesian and Turkish photography communities, as well as opening up opportunities for ISI Yogyakarta students to continue working and taking part at the international level.
