Two students of the Music Presentation Study Program, Faculty of Performing Arts, ISI Yogyakarta won two titles at the Thailand International Guitar Competition 2024, which was held for two days 12-13 October 2024 in Bangkok, Thailand. Muhammad Bagi El Vatikan and Romero Aristo David Simanjuntak, students of Music Presentation Study Program won the Golden Prize and Silver Prize for open category at an international guitar competition held in Thailand.
The Thailand International Guitar Competition 2024 is part of the Asia International Guitar Festival, which is the largest classical guitar event in Southeast Asia. It is organized by the Thailand Guitar Society with Silpakorn University's Faculty of Music and Savarez Strings. The competition not only showcases talented guitar players in competition, but also organizes master classes, concerts, and guitar exhibitions.
ISI Yogyakarta continues to motivate and facilitate students to excel at the international level. By including students in competitions at the international level, it will provide experience competing at the international level, interacting with international artists and students and building the reputation of ISI Yogyakarta. Hopefully the achievements of the two Music Presentation Study Program students can inspire other ISI Yogyakarta students to excel.
